Floyd Elton Lindsey, age 90, of Palmyra Twp., MI, passed away, March 9, 2021, at Hospice of Lenawee with his family. He was born October 14, 1930, in Fairfield Twp., MI, the son of George & Ella (Parks) Lindsey. On November 3, 1953, he married Katherine "Kay" VanValkenburg, she preceded him in death on July 29, 2005. Floyd grew up on a farm. Following his graduation at Blissfield High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Floyd served his country during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. While in the U.S. Army he served as a medic. Floyd owned and operated Thompson's Motor Sales on Ogden Hwy until 1992. He then opened Lindsey's Garage where he spent the rest of his career as a mechanic. Floyd was a member of Wellsville United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts and was an avid hunter & fisherman. Floyd is survived by his son, Mark Lindsey; eleven grandchildren, Teresa Lindsey, Michelle Lindsey, Jason Lindsey, David Lindsey, Nathan Lindsey (Dusti) Lindsey, Annie Lindsey, Ashley Lindsey, Joey Lindsey, Jamie Lindsey, Nicole "Nikki" Lindsey and Jacob Lindsey; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Russell (Wilma) Lindsey; sister in law, Joyce (Bob) McTaggert, brother in law, Richard "Dick" VanValkenburg and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his wife, Katherine Lindsey, he was preceded in death by three sons, James Lindsey, Rick Lindsey and David Lindsey, his parents, George & Ella Lindsey, his step-father who raised him, Norman Thompson; one sister, Esther Ward; and niece, Bertha Grimes. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, March 15, 2021, at Wellsville United Methodist Church, 2509 S Wellsville Hwy, Blissfield, MI with Pastor Brad Vasey officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 14, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at J.
