Eva June Sayen, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026. She was born on June 6, 1934, and lived a life defined by creativity and love for her family. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Earl Sayen Jr, and her sister Marcia & brother William. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Mike (Pam) Sayen, Sandi (Mark) VanEizenga, widow of Dennis Wolff, Sue (Bob) Hazen, Mary (David) DeVries, Nancy Sample, widow of Greg Sample, and David Sayen. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Kay Chilver & Judy Hoogterp, 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Eva was an artist whose talent transcended many mediums. From ceramics, oil painting and creation of exquisite porcelain dolls. Her creations will continue to be treasured by family and friends. Eva had a special love for canaries, whose cheerful songs filled her home and brought endless happiness to those who surrounded her. As the family historian, her genealogy journey took her across the country. She documented years of family history showing her love and dedication to the Sayen & Huddleston legacies. Eva's legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply, the artwork she so passionately created, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Though she will be greatly missed, her love and creative spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Services to honor Eva will be held July 27, 2026 at South United Methodist Church 4500 Division Ave, Grand Rapids MI 49548. The family will receive visitors 10:00am - 11:00am with service following at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Floral View Cemetery in Jenison following the service.
