Emilio "Sugar Bear" Montecinos, Jr., age 81, of Adrian, MI, passed away, May 5, 2026, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born October 14, 1944, in San Antonio, TX, the son of Emilio Sr. & Sarah (Campos) Montecinos. On August 11, 1967, he married Dolores Garcia in Adrian, MI, she survives. Emilio worked as a production worker in the manufacturing industry and also worked in the field most of his life. Emilio enjoyed his spanish music, family time, cookouts, and watching sports, especially the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and Michigan Football. He loved to shoot pool and play & coach softball. In addition to his wife Dolores Montecinos, he is survived by his children, Albert Montecinos, Rosa (Mike) Patton and Emilio Montecinos III; nine grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Medley, Kerry (Sergio) Villegas, Timothy (Marcie) DeMots, Jennifer Amborski, Joshua Montecinos, Gary Amborski Jr., Angel Barrera, Alijah Montecinos and Alisha Siegert; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sara Palmer & Carmen Montecinos; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio Sr. & Sarah Montecinos; two daughters, Rebecca Montecinos and Anna Montecinos; one granddaughter, Stephanie Montecinos; three brothers, Miguel, Montecinos, Antonio Montecinos and Leonardo Montecinos; and two sisters, Delores Negrete and Maria Ortiz. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. William VanVakenburg officiating.
