Elmer William Schwartz, age 91, of Adrian, MI, died peacefully on January 20, 2022, a few weeks short of his 92nd birthday. He was able to stay in his beloved sunroom under the wonderful care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was blessed with very good health and at an age of 86 he took his first airplane ride and enjoyed an Alaskan Cruise. He was a member of The Jehovah Witnesses Congregation. He had a strong faith he lived according to his faith even when he had to make difficult decisions. He was married to his wife Juanita Marie for 40 years and she preceded him in death. He was the father of 8 children; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Counts of Tupelo, MS. He was kind and caring and many times gave money to a homeless person at Meijer's. He enjoyed German cooking, especially anything with gravy and never failed to thank and appreciate the cook. Elmer liked nature, he enjoyed taking care of birds, loved all animals, especially his three cats, Frosty, Luna and Rosie. He planted tomatoes and cucumbers and kept the flowers watered. He believed the earth would eventually be a paradise and we are looking forward to joining him there. A Memorial / Funeral Talk will be held 6:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2022, with Elder Steve Spaulding presiding. (WATCH LIVE LINK) Viewing & Visitation will also be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
