Ellen Koch-Urbancik

Ellen Koch-Urbancik, age 74, of Adrian died Saturday, February 26, 2022 in Tecumseh. She was born January 24, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Gerard and Audrey Mertes.  On July 10, 1981 she married Jerry Urbancik in Midland, MI.  Ellen was a resident of the Adrian area since 1984 coming from Midland with occupations as an LPN, Administrative Assistant and Bank Teller, and was a member of St. Mary’s in Adrian (Holy Family Parish).  Ellen loved cats and loved to watch and feed the birds and squirrels in the backyard, but her greatest joy was her family.  She is survived by husband Jerry Urbancik; sons Brian Koch (Mary Kristin), Paul Koch; brother Donald Mertes; grandchildren Steven Koch-Knapp, Michael Koch and Mary Lauren Koch. Preceded in death by father (Gerald Mertes), mother (Audrey Mertes), and brother (James Mertes).  Funeral services will be held March 26, 10:30AM at Holy Family Parish St. Mary Campus in Adrian, MI.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society to support the animals whom she loved so much.
