Elaine Sue Coopshaw, age 64, of Wauseon, OH, passed away, March 27, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family. Elaine was born December 27,1956 in Wauseon Ohio to Jack and Nancy (Bowerman) Miller. She graduated in 1975 from Sand Creek High School, Sand Creek, MI. She worked for UARCO where she met some lifelong friends. In July of 1982 her son, Charles Porter Parkes IV was born and in December 1983, her daughter Erin Elizabeth (Parkes) Raker was born. Elaine met and later remarried to the love of her life, Rick Coopshaw. On March 11th 1995, Rick joined Elaine and her 2 children as a family, and in 1998 they completed the home of their dreams where they created Bear Creek Cattle and founded the Top of Ohio Club Calf Classic, while breeding & raising beef show cattle for over 20 years. Elaine always loved to learn. She pursued the University of Toledo for several positions while earning multiple degrees. All in 2012, she achieved Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts, High Scholarship of Associate of Technical Studies and was awarded the membership of The Gamma Beta Phi Society. In 2018 she obtained her Masters Degree in Diversity. Elaine worked at the Wauseon School District prior to her final position as a Business Service Officer in the College of Engineering at the University of Toledo where she was employed for over 20 years. She loved life, had an open mind and a free spirit. Elaine had many interests including casino trips, international traveling, music, and of course her beloved books. She loved to laugh and be around her family. She absolutely loved her 3 grandsons. She loved to bake with them, read to them, they loved to frequent the bass pro shops go camping. Elaine is survived by her husband, Ricky Lee Coopshaw; her two children, Charles (Erika) Porter Parkes IV of Bryan, OH and Erin (Kevin) Elizabeth Raker of Wauseon OH; 3 grandsons Riley, Charlie, and Jameson; her mother, Nancy Miller of Fairfield, MI; one brother, Steve (Melanie) Miller of Fairfield, MI; one sister, Gail Miller (Gary Krutz) of Adrian, MI along with several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Alan Miller. Viewing & Visitation will be on Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with funeral services starting at 3:00 PM at J.
