Edwin "Ed" Holly

Edwin "Ed" Holly, age 79, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away, February 3, 2023.  He was born May 20, 1943, in London Twp., MI, the son of Fredrick & Ethel (Dennis) Holly. On July 3. 1965, he married Ruth Forbing at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Plymouth, MI.  Ed proudly served his county for four years in the U.S. Marines. He worked for Ford Motor Co., Saline Plant, retiring after 39 years of service in 2003. He was known as "Oiler Holly" or "Fast Eddie" at the Ford Plant. Ed was a 50 year member of the Loyal Order of Moose, belonging to the Milan & Brooklyn Lodges. Ed was also a 50 year member of the American Legion belonging to the Milan Post 268 & Tecumseh Post 34. He was a Master Scroller and Woodworker. Ed was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish.  In addition to his wife, Ruth Holly, he is survived by his children, Andy (Tammie) Holly and Dianna (Dave) Cooper; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (Ron) Desbrough and Mary Lou Waltz; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Ethel Holly; one brother, Fred Holly and great granddaughter, Rosalee Guire.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Military Honors will be performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard. Viewing & Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
