Dorothy Mae (Ruff) Ashenfelter

Dorothy Mae Ashenfelter (Ruff), age 90, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away at the age of 90 on April 14, 2021. She was born January 28, 1931, in Strawn, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Hannah Ruff. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles, her daughter, Tracy Behm, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her granddaughters, Stephanie (Robert) Bradley and Holly (Amber) Smith; great-grandchildren, Madisyn Bradley, Mason Bradley, and Madison Smith; two sisters-in-law, Jeannette Gritzmaker and Frances Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was a generous person who found joy in caring for others. She cherished her family and her beloved cat, Jake. Dorothy's heart was full of love for those she knew. Nobody was simply a friend- to her they were family. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all that knew her.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Kresge Healthcare, Fab of Arbor Hospice, and Stacy for the compassionate care that they provided Dorothy.  Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. Sandy Benes officiating.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J.
