Donald Chittenden

Donald Chittenden, age 96, of Palmyra, MI, passed away, January 23, 2026, at Lynwood Manor.  He was born August 5, 1929, in Morenci, MI, the son of Herman & Vera (Bachman) Chittenden.  On April 15, 1961, he married Sally (Betz) Chittenden in Riga, MI, she preceded him in death on January 13, 2023.  Donald was a graduate of Morenci High School, Class of 1946.  He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952.  Donald started his career at Faraday in Tecumseh where he worked for 8 years.  He then went to work at Fisher Body in Tecumseh in 1965 and retired in 1988.  During his retirement, Donald enjoyed taking care of his lawn and going to the casino.  He is survived by his children, Mike (Nancy) Chittenden, Vicki (Brian) Timm, Robert Chittenden, Barbara (Clarence) Stites and Janet (Rich) Paul; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife Sally, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Suzie Seiler and Patricia Andrews; one brother, James Chittenden.  Per Donald's wishes, Private Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at a later date.   Arrangements with Purse Funeral Home.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
