Derek J. Hardy

Derek J. Hardy, age 78, of Saline, MI, passed away March 8, 2020 He was born November 27, 1941, in Malvern, England, the son of Arthur & Margaret (Bass) Hardy.  Derek served in the British Royal Navy. Following his service in the Royal Navy, he married Janet Sheen, she preceded him in death. Derek moved his family from England to the United States in 1976.  He is survived by his children, Sarah (Tom) Davis, Rebecca Fall and James (Beth) Hardy; his grandchildren, Nicole, Thomas, Christopher, Daniel and Rachel, one brother, Roger (Beryl) Hardy and two nieces, Rachel and Claire.  In addition to his wife, Janet Hardy, he was preceded in death by his parents.  Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Oakwood Cemetery, 140 Monroe Street, Saline, MI 48176. A luncheon will follow.  Arrangements entrusted to J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
