David Ray Lemley

David Ray Lemley, age  67, of Onsted, MI, passed away, November 1, 2020, unexpectedly. He was born November 17, 1952, in Detroit, MI, the son of Roy & Essie (Mears) Lemley. On August 1, 1993, he married Debra Aker Lemley. She survives.  David was a talented musician who taught himself to play the guitar. He recently discovered his love of the keyboard and passion to compose music. David appreciated the beauty of nature and spending time outdoors. He was the great improviser who always found a solution and gave the best advice. David's philosophy on life was "Be happy while you can".  In addition to his wife, Debra Lemley, he is survived by his daughters, Essie Lemley and Angela Aiton; one granddaughter, Symphony Aiton; his siblings, Roy Lemley, Sheila (Ricardo) Rivera and Paulette (Murray) Nevison; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Young; brother, Steve Lemley; and nephew, Alvin Stout.  A viewing & visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
