David Canup, of Brooklyn MI., age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday July 31, 2023. He was born to Sylvia (Ryle) and Joe Canup in Detroit Michigan. Grew up in Inkster with his sister Jodi McMullen (Canup), where he attended Cherry Hill High School. Retired from Ford Motor Company UAW Local 900 at age 55, after 33 years of service. David loved watching baseball and football. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and playing cornhole with his family and friends. His passion for music was always classic rock, along with blues, and country. He was a member of the Brooklyn Moose, American Legion, and was the Chaplain of the Brooklyn Eagles. His life was spent enjoying his children, grandchildren, and his many road trips exploring. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Nadine (Bonkowski), his mother Sylvia, his sister Jodi, children Jeffery (Vanessa) Bonkowski, Dawn, David Jr. (Shannon), Jason (Miranda), Timothy (Jennifer), and William. Also, his beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Angeleah, Conner, Samantha, Nick, Ryan, Katy, Melissa, Will, Landon, Logan, and Carson. Along with his aunts, and cousins, and many friends. There will be a memorial of his life for family and friends in Brooklyn, MI. Date to be determined.
