Darwin Kennedy

Darwin Kennedy, age 90, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away April 4, 2023. Darwin was born on July 3, 1932 to the late Wilbur and Maggie (Gunter) Kennedy in Adrian, Michigan. After he graduated from Adrian High School in 1950, Darwin joined the US Navy, training to become an electronics technician. There he acquired the skills he used to pursue his passions for radios, electronics, and aircrafts throughout the rest of his life. On March 17, 1956 he married Virginia June Wolfe. A man of many talents, he owned and operated Kennedy TV, Kennedy Woodworking, and worked as a manager at Walper Furniture among several other jobs. An avid guitar player and woodworker, Darwin spent countless hours building, playing and perfecting his guitars. Darwin could often be found in his workshop creating furniture and gifts for family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia; two sons, Kevin (Barbara) and Kirk (Jacquelynn); four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and his sister-in-law Darlene (Robin) Kennedy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Maggie Kennedy; his brother, Max Kennedy; and his precious young daughter Kellie Kennedy. Darwin requested to be cremated. No service will be held at this time. As a military veteran, he will be honored at a later date with a private military burial at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park.
