Daniel Herman

On July 5, 2025,  Daniel, Russell Herman of Morenci, MI went into the hands of our Savior Jesus Christ peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.  Daniel was born April 27, 1951, in Adrian, Michigan to Othmar O. Herman and Edith V. Herman (Trumble) Dan lived most of his life in Clayton and Morenci, Michigan.  Dan worked many years for Stubnitz-Greene in Adrian and Charlotte, Michigan until they closed and worked in several other factories in Michigan in Ohio.  Dan love riding his motorcycle, shooting black powder pistols and rifles.  He was a member of the Salk Valley Original Rifles.  On October 22, 1994, he married Flower Kay Rood (Brighton) in Canadaigua, MI.  Daniel is survived by his wife of 30 years, Flower Kay Brighton Herman, his son Dennis Herman of Adrian, MI; stepdaughter, Tina Brighton of Branch, MI, Stacey (John) Lazarus of Ionia, MI; and stepson, Edward Rood of Hastings, MI;  two sisters, Gayle (Lyle) Clark of Hillsdale, MI and Karen (Mark) Kerr of Clayton, MI; brothers, Charles (Todd Spotts) Herman of Holland, OH, Harold E. (Michelle) Hackathorn of Hudson, MI; two half sisters Carol (Ora) Hatcher of Howell, MI and Dolores Raver of North Branch, Minnesota; sister-in-law Kathy (Joe) Snyder of Lyons, MI; and friend, Deb Howard.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.  Daniel was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Richard; daughter, Dora Lynn; stepdaughter, Star Rood, his parents, grandparents, two sisters Vicki Herman and Dawn Herman; three half-sisters, Clara Jean Herman, Mary Ellen Bretthauer of Adrian; and Joyce Dwyer of Morenci; seven half brothers; Oscar, Edward Paul, Richard, Robert, Herman and Harley, Paul and Dean McNamara; and two brothers-in-law, Dale and Terry Brighton.  The family would like to thank all the Regency hospital, doctors, nurses, and the rest of their staff for their professional care of Dan and the kind and caring compassion given to our family at this difficult time.  Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI with Rev. Greg Ryan officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery, Adrian, MI.  Viewing & Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
