Charles Junior Shambarger, born 9/18/1921, age100, died on October 7th, 2021 peacefully in his sleep.  He was a dearly loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charles was a proud military veteran, having served during WWII where he learned to navigate by the stars. He was an officer, trained in Morse Code and speed reading, and remained a voracious reader his entire life.  He married Bertha Snead in 1946, and together they had 5 children, Linda Markovich, (Craig) Long Lane, MO, Rick Shambarger (Fran) Cumming, GA, Gary Shambarger (Anne) Irons, MI, and Toby (Jessica) Grayling MI.  Grandchildren are Michael Ford, (Marichi) Atlanta, GA, Michelle Lance, (Mike) Adrian MI, Jon Osborne (Michelle) St.Louis MO, Joshua Osborne, (Winston GA), Kyle,Tyler and Skyler Shambarger, of Cumming GA, Anthony and Gary Arthur Shambarger, Irons MI, Noah and Jensen Shambarger Grayling, MI. and 8 great grandchildren. The family was blessed by twins, twice, and 5 living generations twice.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Arthur, his wife Bertha, his daughter, Nancy Cottrell,  his siblings, Robert, Helen, Kevin, James and William Shambarger, grandson Patrick Ford, niece Jackie and nephew Robert Shambarger.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 15, 2021, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors performed by Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard.  Viewing & Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J.
