Charles W. Keener, age 85, of Ypsilanti, MI, formerly of Manitou Beach, MI, passed away November 5, 2021, Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born July 31, 1936, in Mill Creek, West Virginia, the son of Ernest & Alcie (Simpson) Keener. Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an architect in tool & die design. Charles is survived by his son, Charles Keener II; three grandsons, Derrick Keener, Brendan Keener, Jimmy Lee Huddleston and Sean Huddleston; one granddaughter, Elizabeth (Zachary) Burke; two great grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia (Larry) Long; one brother, William D. Keener; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Alice Keener; one daughter, Carol Linnell Huddelston; son, David Michael Keener; four brothers, Ernest Harold Keener, Hayward D. Keener, Gary Lee Keener and Robert Neal Keener; one sister, Joanne Shields; one niece; and three nephews. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Viewing & Visitation will be on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI, with Military Honors performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard.
