Carmen Perez

Carmen Perez, age 73, Adrian, MI, passed away, May 31, 2025, at Lynwood Manor.   She was born April 28, 1953, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of Jose & Consuela (Correa) Morales. On January 30, 1985, she married Librado "Lee" Perez, he preceded her in death on March 15, 2011.  Carmen is survived by children, Carlos (Kristen) Perez, Rachel (Ben) Pena and twins, Librado Perez Jr. & Robert Perez; three granddaughters, Rebecca Perez, Alyssa Perez and Jennifer Pena; one grandson, Ben Pena Jr.; one sister, Hermenia Price of Indianapolis; one brother, David (Tina) Jimenez of Flint; and many nieces, nephews and many good friends. In addition to her husband Lee, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Morales and Consuelo (Luis) Jimenez; four sisters, Linda Ballez, Mary Rea, Maria Eguia and Beatrice Lopez; four brothers, Joe Jimenez, Roberto Morales, Oscar Correa and Johnny Jimenez; and granddaughter, Olivia Pena.  Carmen retired as the head cook from Maurice Spear Campus after 32 years of service. She loved playing Bingo at the Moose on Tuesday's and loved playing Bunco every other Monday with her friends from work.  Any chance Carmen got, she would spend time at various casinos. She was known as "mother hen" because of putting other's need ahead of her's and making the best of a bad situation. Carmen enjoyed spending time with her family, going on cruises and taking vacations. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas where she enjoyed decorating the entire house.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 6, 2025, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Chaplain Patrick Correra officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
