Brian Kent Horton, age 40, of Lansing, Mich. passed away on August 4, 2022, in Detroit, Mich., succumbing to a long-fought illness. He was born August 13, 1981, in Lansing and spent most of his life in the area. Brian had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. Being a kind, generous, and compassionate man who dearly loved his family, Brian will be greatly missed by his mother Jean, daughter Tabitha (“Tabby”), girlfriend and Tabby's mom Karen, brothers Paul and identical twin Ralph, sister Sarah, half-brother Andrew, half-sister Katrina, stepmother Anna, aunts Betty, Darcy, Marlene, Karen, his Uncle Ralph, cousins Wendy, Chris, Dawn, Angie, April, James, and Heather and Kris with whom he was very close, niece Christina, nephews Gauge, Gavin, and Taylor, maternal grandmother Frances, and many friends. One of Brian’s favorite things to do was to spend time with his daughter; he very much enjoyed taking her to places like Impression Five Museum and Potter Park Zoo, and on Sundays he would often take her to play cards with his mom. Brian was an avid sports fan whose favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers and Lions, the Lansing Lugnuts, and the MSU Spartans (green was his favorite color). Besides being a fan of Lansing-based artist, Dennis Preston, he liked food, comedy, nature, philosophy, and pride and feminism. He liked watching the sitcom “Rick and Morty,” the comedy “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and the drama “Stranger Things.” He was a lover of music but what he loved most was his family.
