Beverly Ann Larsen

Beverly Ann Larsen, age 69, of Adrian, MI, died Monday evening, February 28, 2022, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  Beverly was born on August 14, 1952 a daughter of the late James and Marjorie Larsen. She graduated from Adrian College and worked in the recreation department at Adrian State Training School. After retirement, she enjoyed making socks with an antique sock-making machine. She enjoyed playing mahjong and rummy cube with her friends. Beverly was passionately involved with many recreational leadership workshops / conferences throughout the country since the early 1980's.  She enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm for the lost arts and is well known for her 1880 sock machine and caning chairs.  She loved playing games, story telling, leading silly songs, teaching crafts and going on long road trips across the country stopping at famous and not so famous landmarks.  Her zeal for life was contagious.  She was curious, creative, and generous with her time and skills.  Beverly could not leave a room without making friends with everyone in it.  Beverly was best known as a "Leisure Purist".  Beverly and her husband James "Big Jim" Johnson met at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds in 1992 and soon after became a item and then shared 27 years of a blissful marriage together.  Beverly is survived by two brothers Jeffrey Larsen of Sandusky, Ohio and James (Christine) Larsen of Dayton, Ohio, sister in law, Ava Johnson and her son Brandon Johnson of San Antonio, TX; brother in law, Mykal Johnson of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and one nephews.   At Beverly’s request cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements with J.
