Betty Jean (Price) Deatrick Rector

Betty Jean (Price) Deatrick Rector, age 96, of Adrian, MI, formerly of Morenci, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, on July 17, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living  under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.  She was born September 29, 1924, in Morenci, MI, the daughter of James & Lottie (Zimmerman) Price.  On November 11, 1945, she married Robert Deatrick in Morenci, MI, he preceded her in death on December 24, 1989.  On August 8, 1993, she married Robert Rector, he preceded her in death on July 9, 2005.  Betty grew up in Morenci and was raised like a daughter by her aunt and uncle, LeRoy & Ethelyn Price.  She graduated from Morenci High School, Class of 1942.  Betty then went on to beauty school, earning her cosmetology license.  She then owned & operated Be-Dea Beauty Salon in Morenci, MI, for twenty years.  Betty was a member of Medina Federated Church, where she served in many capacities through the years. She loved the Lord and was passionate about sharing her faith in Christ.  Betty loved raising her three children and her family was the cornerstone of her life.  She loved to sew, crochet, take photos, host family gatherings and travel.  Betty had a card ministry with which she would encourage many people and make them feel loved.  Betty is survived by her three children, Kent Deatrick of Morenci, Kirk (Connie) Deatrick of Livingston, TX, and Karen Vereecke of Adrian; stepchildren, K (Jake) Roemmich of North Dakota, Cinda (David) Metcalf of Arizona,  John (Jana) Rector of Indiana and Martin (Jenny) Rector of Florida; nine grandchildren, Leslie Deatrick, Holly (John) Jackson, Adam (Emily) Vereecke, Alyssa (Jacob) Shumaker, Austin Vereecke, Aubrey Vereecke, Alexis Vereecke, Anna Vereecke and Ashla Vereecke; several step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Price; and many special nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Lottie Price; her uncle & aunt who raised her, LeRoy & Ethelyn Price; husbands, Robert Deatrick and Robert Rector; son-in-law, Jeffrey Vereecke; granddaughter, Ashlee Vereecke; and siblings, Elizabeth Smith, William Price, Vernon Harper, Walter Price and Arnold Price. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Medina Federated Church, 12603 Medina Rd, Hudson, MI, with Pastor Darren Lemmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, MI.  Viewing & Visitation will be on Thursday July 22, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N.
