Arthur Leon Horn, age 75, of Adrian, MI, passed away on Friday February 18, 2022 surrounded by family at home. Arthur was born in Adrian, Michigan to Leon Horn and Iva Phipps on August 20, 1946. He married the love of his life, Sharon Horn (Bender) on January 2, 1966 and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Together they raised 3 children, Wendy Cupp (David), of Knoxville, Tennessee, Dawn Burciaga (Raul), of Adrian and Shane Horn (Michelle) of Lakeland, Tennessee. They were also blessed with eight grandchildren, Kyle Horton (Sara), Kristin Reid (Duston), Garrett Keel (Emily), Justin Keel (Florence), Nysha Burciaga, Seth Burciaga, Bradley Horn, and Tayla Horn as well as 11 great grandchildren. Art was a self-employed mechanic for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed building rat rods and street rods as well as spending as much time as he could on his boat fishing. These activities brought him great enjoyment in life. Serving God was the foundation of his life. Art served as the assistant pastor at Freedom Christian Fellowship for over 30 years. He loved being with others and serving those around him for the glory of God. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished all the times they gathered together. Art had a way of making everyone around him laugh. He was a friend to everyone he met and never failed to lighten the mood with a joke or two. Art is survived by his wife, Sharon, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and his sisters Frieda Ikle (Greg), Iva Stover (Orville), and sisters-in-laws Pat Horn and Betty Horn. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Jim Horn and Lee Horn. A Celebration of Life service will take place 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, officiated by Rev. Jerry D. Lacey, Pastor of Freedom Christian Fellowship. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. Private interment service will occur at a later date.
