Agnes Loretta Travis of Belleville MI, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in her home. For nearly 65 years, until her death, she was the wife of Rev. Bernie Travis, pastor of Liberty Gospel Church of Belleville. She had suffered a stroke in the early hours of Tuesday, January 25. After two weeks as an in-patient at St. Joseph Mercy, Ann Arbor, its Palliative Care (hospice) team brought her home. Mrs. Travis was born in Livingston County, Kentucky, on April 23, 1934. She is survived by: her husband, pastor Bernie Travis, of Belleville; sons Michael Travis of Warren, and David (Cindy) Travis, also of Warren; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister Glidel (Chuck) Sexton of Northville; brothers Bob (Nancy) Hardin of Flint, and Wally Hardin of Zephyr Hills, Florida; and also large numbers of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends across the USA and other countries. Mrs.Travis was preceded in death by her parents, Ephraim Crossland Hardin and Florena Hardin, three sisters, two brothers, and Debi Travis, her much beloved daughter-in-law of over 38 years. Mrs. Travis is fondly remembered for the generosity of spirit and hospitality she extended to those in need, whether family member, relative, friend, or stranger. She provided much needed love, nourishment and even a place for them in her home while they were making a new start in life. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19th at Great Lakes Christian Church, 3421 Chicago Rd, Warren Michigan 48092. Visitation will be held from noon to 2pm, followed by the funeral service. After the service a memorial dinner will be held in the church fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome.
