Willard A. (Butch) Smith, Jr.

WILLARD A. SMITH, JR. "BUTCH", age 79, of Tecumseh passed away August 17, 2019 at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  He was born December 25, 1939 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Willard A. and Bernetta (Snell) Smith, Sr.  On May 17, 1969 he married Alma Jean Brooks and she survives.  Butch was employed with Herrick Memorial Hospital, Tecumseh for 20 years and then retired from Hardwoods of Michigan, Clinton.  In addition to his wife of 50 years, Alma; Butch is survived by two sons, Troy (Carri) Smith and Kim (Dr. Cheri Brown) Smith; daughter, Mary (Jeff) Gillin; grandson, Charles Shephard; and three sisters.  He preceded in death by his parents and a brother.  Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 210 W. Pottawatamie St., Tecumseh, MI with Rev. Richard Webb officiating.
