Ruth Lexine Moore

Ruth Lexine Moore, age 85, of Jackson, died September 12, 2017, at Jackson County Medical Care Facility, Jackson, MI.  She was born August 28, 1932 in Panther, WV, the daughter of Wayne and Elsie (Collins) Bryant. She was married to James Allen who preceded her in death. She was also married to Harold Moore, who also preceded her in death.  Ruth was a graduate of Iaeger High School, Iaeger, WV.  She worked as a telephone switchboard operator for many years and also owned and operated a restaurant together in Morehead, KY with her husband James.  Ruth was also employed Belleville Hospital, Belleville, MI and Montgomery Ward, Ann Arbor.  She made the best biscuits and gravy and loved to cook for her family. She touched the lives of all who knew her.   Ruth attended the Old Regular Baptist Church her entire life.  She is survived by her children, Larry R. (Debbie) Allen, Terry Allen, and Jimmy Allen; 7 grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Culverhouse, Angie Youmans, Melissa (Wes) Brown, James (Jennifer) Caudill, Kelly (Allen) Borchert, Andrew (Presley Wright) Crawford, and Brigitte Schultz; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Louise (Ray) Hall, Evelyn (Glen) Anderson, and J.H. (Georgie) Bryant.  In addition to her parents, and husbands James Allen and Harold Moore, she was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Allen, sisters, Joann (Jimmy) Lester and Eunice (Earl) Dotson: and brother Siebert (Doris) Bryant.  Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017  at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. James Caudill officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.   Visitation will also be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service.
