Nancy Jean Hopkins, age 78, of Blissfield, MI., passed away January 11, 2019 in her home of 50 years. She was born October 21, 1941 in Petersburg, MI., the daughter of John and Dolores Vanderlaan. On January 24, 1959 she married John O. Hopkins, and he survives. Nancy attended Deerfield High School and attended Heritage Church of God. During her 61 years with John, they enjoyed camping, blue grass festivals and watching Detroit Tiger games. They also enjoyed traveling to locations such as Shipshewana, Dollywood, Universal Orlando, Cedar Point, and Fulton County Fair. She enjoyed making ceramics, knitting and needlepoint. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children; son, John T. (Susie) Hopkins, Clayton, MI; daughter, Brenda (Rick) Parran, Wauseon, OH ; daughter, Pamela Humphries, Toledo, OH; son Brian Hopkins, Roanoke, IN., seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two brothers; Robert C. Vanderlaan, Ocala FL; and Roger Vanderlaan, New London, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Vanderlaan. A service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd., Maumee, OH 43537, with Pastor Robert L. Fry officiating.
