Mary Ellen Sanders

Mary Ellen Sanders, age 98, of Saline, went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 4, 2017.  Mary Ellen was born June 5, 1919 in Copemish, MI the daughter of Wilbert and Nina (Beebe) Kendall.  On June 24, 1947 she married Murray Sanders in Hastings, MI and he preceded her in death.  She graduated from Saline High School and Eastern Michigan University where she received her teaching degree.  She was the oldest member of York Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Dear to her heart was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that was only surpassed by her love for her Lord Jesus Christ.   Surviving Mary Ellen are her children,  Tracy (Peggy) Sanders, Amy (Dave) Shankleton - Novess and Nina (David) Lunsford;  9 grandchildren;  21 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Murray, she was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters .  Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor David  Grinnell officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Clinton.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 P. M.
