Marilyn J. "Emmie" Henry

Marilyn J. "Emmie" Henry, age 87, of Adrian, MI, went to be with The Lord on, January 1, 2019.  She was born May 23, 1931, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of Gerald & Gladys (Lindsey) Emerson. On September 25, 1949, she married Franklin Henry, he preceded her in death on May 23, 2010. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, TeeSha Powelke, son in law, Ronald Powelke, her parents, and sister in law, Virginia Emerson.  Marilyn retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was the first female letter carrier with the Post Office in Adrian, MI. She was known to many as Ma Henry and loved by all.  She is survived by her children, Steve (Janine) Henry of Tecumseh, Tim (Cindi) Henry of Burlington, KY, Pam Powelke of Adrian, MI and Paula (Ken) Clark of Columbiana, OH, fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, three brothers, Gerald Emerson of California, Arthur (Arlene) Emerson of Tennessee and David (Sandy) Emerson of Florida and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with her son in law, Pastor Ken Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI.
