Kevin Eugene Nolan

Kevin Eugene Nolan, age 63, of Carleton, MI, passed away, November 3, 2017.  He was born March 21, 1954, in Trenton, MI, the son of Eugene & Thelma (McDonald) Nolan.  In 1973, he married Linda Purdy.    Then on February 28, 1994, he married and spent the rest of his life with Marcelle Strand, she survives.  Kevin attended St. Patrick's Elementary School in Carleton and then went on to Airport High School in Carleton, MI.  While at Airport High School he excelled in sports setting several school records in basketball.  Kevin loved his Ford Mustangs which he drag raced at Milan Dragway.  He attained several trophies during his drag racing career.   Kevin was an avid Detroit Lions & Tigers fan.  He retired from Ypsilanti Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.  While at Ford's, he received a skilled trades certification.  He then proceeded with the general contracting of Nolan Construction which then evolved into his trucking business for 17 years which he had a deep passion for.  In addition to his wife, Marcy, he is survived by his children, Eric Nolan, Racheal Maloney, Roger Miller Jr. and Chrystal (Rick) Anderson, his grandchildren, Kassie, Broderick, Bryceton, Allie, Jayceen, Alaesha, Jvionte, Giovanni and Amari, his siblings, Robert (Karen) Nolan, Barbara Trotter and Mark (Carole) Nolan and all of his many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 305 Division St., Adrian, MI, with Fr. Tom Murphy presiding.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N.
