Kerry Durel Bennett, 74, of Canton, passed away July 16, 2019, at University of Michigan Hospital. He was born at Herman Keefer Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, November 25, 1944, to Joseph & Velma (Edwards) Bennett. Kerry graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1963. He married Dianne Pauline Wyatt on August 29, 1964 and they had three children, Rhonda of Canton, Dwayne (Tamara) of Blissfield and Jason (Jennifer) of Brooklyn. He worked as a master diesel mechanic at Commercial Carriers, as a member of the Teamsters Union, and retired in 2001. He was the person you called whenever you had a difficult auto related problem. He was a loyal Detroit sports fan (his favorites were Tigers and Red Wings). Family was everything to him. Hosting holidays, attending grandchildren’s performances and events, and celebrating milestones, he loved any opportunity to be with family. Throughout the years he spoiled, loved on and took great care of his dogs. He enjoyed spending time in his yard making it look beautiful. Kerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, daughter, 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, grandchildren Konnor, Aidan, Julia, Katie, Parker (Amaris) Ball, Emma, great grandchildren Johanan, Nova & Carson, brother Harold (Sharon) of Wayne, sister Colleen of Texas,sister-in-law Vernell of Onsted, MANY nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne of Onsted, brother Dave of Colorado and daughter-in-law Angie Bennett of Adrian.
