Jose "Joe" Lopez

Jose "Joe" Lopez, age 62, of Ridgeway, passed away December 12, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 21, 1956 in Tecumseh, the son of Atanacio and Minerva (Castro) Lopez. Joe was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1974. During his Senior year in high school, he was awarded "The Golden Hammer Award" at Vo-Tech.  Joe loved to play golf with his brothers and spending time in his garden.He is survived by, his step-daughter Erica Rea of Maryland, six sisters, Angelita McCoy of Imlay, City, Alice (Marty) Flint, Minnie (Jim) Freshcorn, Dolores Righter  (Larry Shea) all of Tecumseh, Mary (Doug) Feight and Linda (Dave) Corder both of Manitou Beach, 11 brothers;  Atanacio, Jr. (Yolanda) of Napoleon, Antonio (Mary Carl) of Ridgeway, Alex (Carol) of Tecumseh,  John (Joyce) of Adrian, Rainey (Cheryl) of Tecumseh, Louie (Roberta) of Adrian, Isabel (Sheryl) of Paw Paw, Tom of Britton, Michael (Laura) of Tecumseh and Steven Lopez of Ridgeway and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Minerva in 1989; father, Atanacio in 1996; and brother Santos in 2005. Joe was loved by many and missed by all. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday December 17, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh and from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service Tuesday, December 18, 2018 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with his brother, Rev.
