Joel C. "Bob" Vasher

Joel C. "Bob" Vasher, age 98, of Adrian, MI, died November 22, 2018, at Lynwood Manor. He was born November 17, 1920, in Trenton, MI, to Clement J. and Jennette (Wells) Vasher. Mr. Vasher attended New Hudson & South Lyon High School. He served in the Pacific Theatre and Occupational Forces in Japan as a Military Policeman. He earned the Battle Star for the Philippines, the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. On May 25, 1946, he married Helen Butcher in Hudson, MI. He was employed by the Tecumseh Products for 32 years and retired in 1980. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lyons, OH.  He is survived by four sons, Michael Vasher and his wife Sandra, of Adrian, MI, Lawrence Vasher and his wife Wendy, of Pinckney, MI, Howard Vasher and his wife Cindy, of Willard, MO and Dean Vasher and his wife Darla of Morenci, three daughters, Eileen Osentoski and her husband Robert, of Taylor, MI, Judith Krok and her husband Richard, of Blissfield, MI and Dee Ann Wolf and her husband, Les, of Clayton, MI, nineteen grandchildren and twenty three great  grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen (Butcher), a son, Joel Vasher, a granddaughter, Eva, a grandson, Josh, a great great granddaughter, Anjil, brother, Harley Vasher and sister, Marie Bailey.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. The Funeral Liturgy will follow at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Rite of Committal will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Lyons, OH with Military Honors performed by the Michigan Army National Guard.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
