Joan Renner

Joan  Renner, age 71, of Adrian, MI, passed away November 18, 2018, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. She was born April 17, 1947, in Hamilton, AL, the daughter of William & Audra (McCoy) Emerson. Joan graduated from Adrian High School in 1966.  On July 18, 1970, she married Stephen Renner, he survives.  Joan was a former employee of the Sterling Restaurant and Wesco, both in Adrian. From 1989-1995, she co- owned the Comfort Zone in Onsted with one of her best friends, Linda Behm.  Joan loved her grandchildren and watching the Game Show Network. She was also known to spend countless hours talking on the phone to family & friends.  In addition to her husband Stephen, she is survived by her children, Erik (Lori) Renner and Stephanie (Corey William) Roberts; her grandchildren, Madison, Grace, Mayim, Skyler and Emersyn; her siblings, Jannette (Roger) Morgan, Timothy (Karrie) Emerson and Sheena Summers and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia Emerson and Annette Henry, brother in law, Rodney Summers, sister in law, Diane Renner and dear friend Mary O'Quinn.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Rev. David Bolton officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the J.
