Jerome R. Lazarz

Jerome R. Lazarz, age 81, of Tipton, MI, passed away, November 15, 2017, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. He was born July 9, 1936, in Detroit, MI, the son of Joseph & Genevieve (Crane) Lazarz. On August 20, 1955, he married Eleanor Fleischhacker in Detroit, MI, she survives. Jerome served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Rouge Steel / Ford Motor Co. after 33 years of service. He and his son Phillip owned Dawn to Dusk Cedar Products for 18 years. Jerome loved to play golf and was a long suffering Detroit Lions fan. He loved his family and adored his wife of 62 years. He was her primary caregiver to the end. Jerome would lend a helping hand to anyone whether they asked for it or not. In his later years he loved to cook and hold parties with his family.  In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by his children, Cindy Lazarz, Phillip Lazarz and Susie (Paul) Netter, his grandchildren, Matthew Eiermann, Katie (Andy) Groover, Jenna (Chris) Heidisch, P. J. Lazarz, Elly Netter, Nicholas Netter, Annemarie (Michael) Shrum and Bernadette Netter, four great grandchildren, one sister, Charlotte (Julian) Martinez of California, Aunt Florence and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lorrie Lazarz and one brother, Larry Lazarz.  Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 18, 2017, at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic, 8743 US Hwy -12. Brooklyn, MI, with Fr. Bob Pienta presiding. Visitation will be on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.    Entombment will take place Monday, November 20, 2017, in St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Dearborn Heights, MI. www.PurseFuneralHome.com
