James Franklin Priest, Sr.

James Franklin Priest, Sr. age 76, of Adrian, MI, passed away, September 2, 2019 He was born July 31, 1943, in Rosebush, MI, the son of Hiram Franklin & Anna Belle (Migas) Priest. James served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart in the line of duty. He retired from Schneider National, Inc. after twenty years of service. James loved to hunt, ride his motorcycle and go dancing on Saturday nights at the Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and watching football with his sons. He was very involved in the community by volunteering at the Adrian Senior Center and Meals on Wheels and other community support base programs.  James survived by two sons; James Jr. (Lauren) Priest, Jason Priest, one daughter, Stacey Mitchell, seven grandchildren; Sofia, Jakob, Gavin, Ryder, Holden, Ericka and Jeremy, two great grandchildren; Johnny and Alexis, one brother; Bob (Ann) Priest, one sister; Nancy Rodgers, sister in law, Charlene Priest and nieces and nephews; Connie, Carrie, Colleen, Pete, Kim, Cheryl, Wendy, Julie and John.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram & Anna Priest and brothers, Gary Priest and John Priest. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Military Honors will be performed by the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187 Funeral Honors Team  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 1:30 PM until the time of service at the J.
