Jake "Al" Jacobson

Jake "Al" Jacobson, age 67, of Onsted passed away on July 12, 2018.

He is in eternal rest with his wife Catherine and son Eric

Dear father to Kelly (Gene), Steven (Michelle), Lee Ann (Jason)

Loving grandfather to 10, and a brother to Shirley & Lori.

Jake grew up in Harper Woods, MI with his late parents, Wallace & Martha Jacobson.  He is a Veteran of the United States Army, for which he proudly served one Tour of Duty stationed in Thailand during the Conflict of Vietnam.

Jake worked very hard while he drove a truck for most of his adult life.  He made many personal sacrifices to make sure that his family was taken care of to the best of his abilities.  He loved to play games, tell stories, eat at Coney Island & read books, with Louis L’Amour being one of his favorite authors.  His passion for books led him down a path to where he was even in the process of writing his own book.  Jake also enjoyed watching several television shows, including the Lone Ranger, his favorite show as a child and it remained so even into his adult years.  Jake also enjoyed The Three Stooges, Columbo and just about any Western movie that you could think of. 

Jake was a simple man who handled all situations and people his “own” way!  To know Jake was to love him.  He was a great person and will be missed dearly by all that knew him & loved him.

Service information are as follows:

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM with Funeral Services will immediately at 12:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  A Luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
