Hilda Brown (Hayes) Caterina

Hilda Brown (Hayes) Caterina, 96, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.  She was born September 12, 1921, to Wilburn & Essie Mae (Wheat) Hayes in Birmingham, AL.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Lou.  Hilda is survived by her ten children, Joe (Laura), Louie, Cindy (John) Karazim, Pat Toth, Mimi Edwards, Tony (Heather), Peter, Lisa (Michael) Sellinger, John (Shelly) and Dan (Robin), 19 grandchildren, Brooke, Marc, Alex, Chelsea, Nichole, Andrew Ryan (Melissa), Sarah (Gunner Soma), Lacey, Beck, Michael (Lindsey), Joe, Gina, Chris (Nicole), Afton (Chris), Remco, Isaac, Evan, Justin and Abby, 7 great grandchildren.  Hilda grew up in Detroit, MI, graduating from Redford High School and Marygrove College.  She shared her love of music with countless children as an elementary music teacher throughout Lenawee County and as a church organist.  She and Lou raised their children on a farm in Tecumseh, MI, enjoying cooking and baking, vegetable and flower gardening, music club and her devout Catholic Faith.  They  shared their golden years in Morenci and Adrian, MI area.  Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 415 Ormsby St., Adrian, MI.  Hilda will lie in-state at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass.  Arrangements entrusted to J.
