Greta Lois Snyder

Greta Lois Snyder, age 74, passed away September 10, 2019.  She was born July 8, 1945 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Eben D. and Evelyn (Price) Smith.  Greta was originally from Belleville and moved to the Jackson area in 1979. She was a graduate of Belleville High School, Class of 1964. At Belleville High School, she was a majorette in the marching band and member of the synchronized swimming team.  Greta was retired from Ford Motor Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant, where was a member of UAW Local 898. She loved to sew, her flower garden, and swimming in her pool.  Greta loved and held her family dearly and will be missed by all.  Greta is survived by her children; Carla (Tony) Gibson of Belleville, Mark (Candy) Mercer of Horton, Craig (Ronda) Snyder of Cement City, and Rachelle Smith of Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and another due in October; 4 step daughters; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren;  sister, Nancy Trevorrow of Lake City and her beloved dog, Bug.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David A. Mercer; and husband, William A. "Bill" Snyder.  Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.  Visitation will also take place from 11:00 until time of funeral service on Monday, September 16, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.  Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Hillside Cemetery, Belleville, MI.  Condolences to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
