Evelyn Eileen (Beland) Herbert

Evelyn Eileen (Beland) Herbert, age 75, of Davidson, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away June 6, 2019.  Evelyn was born September 22, 1943 in Tecumseh, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Yenor) Beland.  On January 1, 1996, she married David Herbert, in Alpena, Michigan, and he survives.  She was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, and attended Central Michigan University.  After 26 years of service she retired as a seamstress from General Motors.  Evelyn was always actively involved with church ministry.  She was currently a member of Community Baptist Church, Davison, Michigan, and a former member of Cathro Baptist Church, Alpena.  She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, traveling, crocheting and knitting.  In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her children, Martin (Shelly) Lewis and David (Nicole) Lewis, six stepchildren, three grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Lewis and Roger DeSeranno, and sister, Marilyn Collins.  Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Pastor Daryl Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield.  Visitation will be 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. preceding the funeral service.
