Eugene "Gene" Gallant

Eugene "Gene" Gallant, age 79, of Adrian, MI, passed away, October 28, 2018, at Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his wife of 60 years, his daughters who loved him dearly & many loving family members. He was born October 18, 1939, in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Thomas & Harriet (Smith) Gallant. On July 5, 1958, he married Georgia (Dinse) Campbell, she survives.  Gene was the owner of Gallant & Sons Small Engines for over 60 years. He had also worked at Tecumseh Products, Adrian Decorators with his close friend, Dalton McLemore. Gene also worked at the Chevy Garage in Tecumseh as a body man & painter. He worked at Cutler Dickinson on the portable mobile mill with his friend Ron Francoeur.  Gene enjoyed spending winters in Bradenton Florida where they enjoyed spending time with their many friends. His greatest enjoyment was traveling north to Atlanta, MI, where he hunted, fished and made many amazing memories with family & close friends.  Gene was a member of Gideons International, the Adrian Moose Lodge and the Adrian Eagles. He was an active member of Jasper Bible Church. Gene will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and many customers. He had a sense of humor and loved to be the center of attention with his jokes & songs. Gene was known as "Chief" at all church camping events.  In addition to his wife Georgia Gallant, he is survived by two daughters, Shelley (Sean) Bice and Stacy (Rich) Niner, son in law, Bill Goble, twenty six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister in law, Mary (Gary) Valuet and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Colette Goble, son Geno Gallant, three brothers, Tom Gallant, Don Gallant and Edwin Gallant, two sisters, Emma Howard and Doris Mukensturm, grandson, Dylon Niner and mother in law, Betty Higgins.  Visitation will be on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI, with Rev.
