Donald Richard Bachand Jr.

Donald Richard Bachand, Jr., age 75, of Tecumseh, passed away January 22, 2019 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, with his pastor and family by his side. He was born April 4, 1943, in Detroit, to Donald and Maxine (Dorrier) Bachand. Don was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church.  He worked 36 years at Ford Motor Company, Monroe Plant, and retired in 2000. Don was an owner of several small businesses and he loved using his metal detector.  He was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings and loved all Michigan sports. On December 31, 1985, he married Peggy J. (Whitaker) Patton and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Donald (Becky) Bachand and Steven (Glynis) Bachand; 3 step-children, Shawn (Frank) Rzucidlo, Shelly (Chris) Corum, and Larry (Amy) Patton; 12 grandchildren; a great grandchild; and sister Judy Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debby Gerak and his beloved Miniature Pinscher, Sydney. Don suffered many medical ailments for many years fighting until the end. We will all miss him until we see him again in heaven. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI with Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.  Visitation will also be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
