David Allen Holtz "Holtzy", age 63, of Flat Rock, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. He was born on October 26, 1955 in Toledo Ohio, to Irwin and Reda (Collins) Holtz. David attended Sand Creek schools until 1973 when he enlisted in the army. Despite his brief service, Dave is a Vietnam Veteran. Although described by those who knew him as stubborn and hotheaded, he had a very generous heart that was proven time and time again. David enjoyed being outdoors whether he was fishing, a favorite pastime, riding ATV’s, snowmobiling or just visiting with friends and family. David is preceded in death by parents Irwin and Reda (Collins) Holtz, nieces Karen Holtz and Jeanna Holtz. He is survived by his children William Holtz and Ashley Koelbel; siblings Patricia (Leroy) DeJonghe, Norma Tuckerman, Anthony (Lois) Holtz, Clifford (Carolyn) Holtz, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will not be held per his request and cremation will take place. Arrangements are with J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
