Danny Charles Whitt

Danny Charles Whitt, age 69, of Raisin Township, passed away at home January 16, 2020 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson's and ALS.  Danny was born April 21, 1950 in Williamson, West Virginia the son of Adrian and Nancy (Sammons) Whitt.  On December 19, 1970 he married Pamela Yoder , who he adored  and  they just celebrated 49 years of marriage.  She survives.  After 34 years of service he retired from Ford Motor Company.  He was a sergeant in the United State army serving in the Vietnam War. Danny enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling, being outside in nature, family and friends, but most of all he adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was truly a family man. In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by his daughters, Jodi (Matthew) White and Jennifer Nimer; grandchildren, Taryn (Matt) Kubik, James Ryan, Karis White, Brian Nimer, Bailey Nimer, Noah Nimer and Gabriel Kimberly; great grandchildren, Lila, Abel, Luca, Oakleigh, Sadie and Nora; siblings, William (LauraAnn) Whitt and Carmon West. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Adrian Whitt and sister, Phyllis Hodge. Services will be 4:00 P. M. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Military honors will be provided by the Michigan Army National Guard Honor Guard  and the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard Team.  Visitation will start at 2:00 P. M. preceding the service.
