Daniel "Sarge" Garcia, Jr.

Daniel Garcia, Jr. "Sarge", age 86, of Adrian passed October 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.  On August 23, 1932 he was born in Port Arthur, TX, the son of Daniel and Margaret (Bermea) Garcia, Sr.  On March 26, 1970, he married Maria Vivian Rodriguez in Adrian and she survives.  Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army Field Artillery serving in both the Korean War and Vietnam War with over 25 years of service. He retired from the Army as an E-9, Sergeant Major (TOP).  Daniel was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Valor.  He was retired from the US Army and Johnson Controls.  Daniel was the co-founder of Latino American Golf League here in Lenawee County which is still in existence today.  In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived two sons, Michael (Wendy) Garcia, Steven (Levina Cooper) Garcia, 3 daughters, Debra (Scott) Gosselin, Margaret Rodriguez, and Michelle (Pat) Denniston; grandchildren, Michael (Vanessa) Garcia, Jr., Scott (Lori) Gosselin, Stacey Miller, Stephen (Leah) Gosselin, Elijah Danil Garcia, Steven Garcia, Jr., Xavier Charles Garcia, Siuanna Garcia, Austin Michael Garcia, Coti Pinter,  Brian Michael, Cooper, Aaron Haslett, Jason Pryor, and Roger (Jessica) Pryor; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers; and three sisters.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie Rodriguez and two grandsons; Derrick Pryor and Joshua Pryor.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Deacon James Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
