Charles "Chuck" James Clymer, Sr.

Charles "Chuck" Clymer, Sr., age 85, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Adrian, MI,  passed away, July 21, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born January 31, 1933, in Tedrow, OH, the son of James Clymer & Mildred (Liechty) Ankney On March 1, 1952, he married Patricia McElfresh, she survives.  Chuck served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Coral Sea. He retired from GM Powertrain in Toledo, OH. Chuck was a member of the Adrian Moose for over 40 years.  In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by his children, Sherry (Lynn) Demski, Vickie Smolinski, Charles Jr. (Kathy) Clymer and Scott (Kimberly A.) Clymer, eight grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Richard Ankney, his sister, Diana Reinke, brother, Pete Clymer and two nephews, Russell Reinke and Michael Clymer.  Visitation will be on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM Saturday, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI, with Charles James Clymer, III officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Adrian VFW Post 1584 Honor Guard.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
