Arlene M. Griewahn

Arlene M. Griewahn, age 92, of Adrian, MI, passed away, September 15, 2019.  She was born June 11, 1927, in Britton, MI, the daughter of Roy & Mildred (Melher) Kempf.  On October 3, 1943, she married Glenwood Griewahn in Adrian, MI.  He preceded her in death on October 25, 2006.  Arlene worked for the Adrian Public Schools as a bus driver and secretary.   She help to start the Young Marines of Lenawee County and was an active presence for 25 years.  Arlene was active in Al-Anon for 30 plus years.  She was a member of the Adrian Post 275 American Legion Auxillary.  She enjoyed her family, working with the community and gardening.  Arlene, is survived by her daughter, Mildred A. Kokas of Adrian, her son, Leroy (Cynthia) Griewahn of Riverton, WY, grandchildren; William (Lisa) Curry of Adrian, Joseph Curry of Florida, Deborah (Frank) Red of North Carolina, Rusty (Elizabeth Hancock) Curry of Adrian, Michael (Katie) Kokas II of Pinckney, MI, Shirene (Doug) Peters of Wyoming and Kaya Reed,  Mistayln (Shawn) Steffer of Wyoming, Michael (Deliah) Mills of Arizona, eighteen great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren and two sisters in law, Velma Setzler and  Eva Moore, numerous nieces and nephews, special niece & nephew, Cynthia & Chris Griewahn and special friend Lois Morris.  She was preceded in death by her husband Glenwood Griewahn, parents, Roy & Mildred Kempf, granddaughter, Dawn Lynnett Curry, two sisters, Edith Gray and Dorothy Faust and son in law, Michael Kokas.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home with  her niece, Cynthia Griewahn officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridgeway Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at J.
