Andrew Ward, Jr.

Andrew Ward, Jr., age 88, of Adrian, MI, passed away, April 9, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1930, in Adrian, MI, the son of Andrew Sr. & Ilah (Dillon) Ward. On June 10, 1953, he married Betty Brink, she survives.  Andrew served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was member of the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Dept. Andrew loved antiques, steam engines and John Deere tractors. He retired from Bohn Aluminum in Adrian where he worked for over 47 years.  In addition to his wife Betty Ward, he is survived by his children, Wendell Dean (Cynthia) Ward, Merrie Ann (Jim) Baggett and Ilah Marie Ward, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Ward and Robert (Pat) Ward, one sister, Joyce (Chris) Boring and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Roger Lee & Kenny Roger Ward and one sister, Mary Lou Burk.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy Adrian, MI, with Chaplain Gary Krohn officiating. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors performed by the Adrian VFW Post 1584 Honor Guard.
