It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Virginia Rumsey, age 74, of Adrian, Michigan.  Virginia entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, March 5, 2023, after an extended illness.  Born on November 7, 1948, in Hackleburg, Alabama, Virginia was the daughter of Robert and Burma Bishop.  She graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1967.   On September 7, 1968 Virginia married the love of her life, Robert Rumsey.  Virginia worked at the Daily Telegram for more than 15 years.  She was an avid gardener who loved tending her flowers, which she dried and transformed into beautiful wreaths and arrangements. She also enjoyed sewing and other crafts.  Virginia was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and then later, Berean Baptist Church.  While at Bethel, she taught Sunday school and loved making lifelong connections with her students.  Virginia is survived by her children, Jeff (Michelle) Rumsey and Julia (Michael) Farrington; grandchildren, Garrett Farrington, Lauren Farrington, and Jacob Rumsey.  Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents.   Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 9, 2023, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Doug Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh, MI.  Viewing & Visitation will also be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J.
