Thomas "Tommy" Counts

Thomas "Tommy" Counts, age 80, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  He was born June 5, 1946, in Adrian, MI, the son of Arthur & Mary (Brooks) Counts.  He married the love of his life Sharron Corbin, in October 1983, she survives. Tom was a devout christian man who deeply loved Jesus, his wife, children and family. He looked forward to his family reunion and holidays, where he traditionally led the blessing before dinner.  He retired from Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh where he devoted 35+ years in the laundry & supply department. His quiet, behind the scenes hard work was a vital part of keeping the hospital running smoothly and caring for the local community.  Tom loved to sing, and was part of the church choir for several years and also participated in a church play! His favorite hobby was making wooden toys, which he donated to Toys for Tots for numerous years and also to friends and family. Tom was also a member of the Tecumseh Senior Center, where he loved playing Wii Bowling and participated in a tournament that his team went on to win. His kind and generous spirit was always willing to lend a helping hand.  In addition to his wife Sharron Counts; he is survived by his children, Thomas (Lisa) Counts of Tennessee and Julie Hickman of Florida; grandchildren, Anya and Olivia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Mary Counts; and his 9 siblings, Gordon, James, Butch, Hazel, Ruth, Delila, Betty, Phyllis and Barbara. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday July 27, 2026, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Adam Gilbert officiating.  Visitation will also be on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI.  Burial of cremains will take place at a later date with immediate family.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
