Rebecca Louise Kirkpatrick

Rebecca Louise Kirkpatrick, age 95, of Adrian, MI, passed away, November 29, 2021.  She was born October 1, 1926, in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, the daughter of Tommie & Mattie (Ervin) Wade.  Rebecca was a longtime waitress and factory worker and also picked lots of cotton until she came to Michigan in 1953 after marrying her husband Charles W. Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; sister, Mary Frances Forsythe; and three sons, Edward Mearl Kirkpatrick, Kenneth Louis Kirkpatrick and James Riley Kirkpatrick.  Rebecca is survived by her children, Jettie Inez (Robert) Seeburger, Melvin Eugene (Sheila) Kendrick and Jere William (Sandra) Kirkpatrick; and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She loved to play bingo, cards and jigsaw puzzles with her friends and doing crossword puzzles on her own. She enjoyed listening to music and being with and cooking for her children. Rebecca had a great sense of humor, loved jokes and loved to laugh. Even through hard times, she always had a positive attitude.  Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Julie Gritzmaker officiating. Viewing & visitation will also be on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. Cremation will follow. Her final resting place will be in Palmyra Cemetery next to her husband and son.
