Linda Bell Obituary

Linda L. Bell, age 61, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital following respiratory complications. While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her life was a beautiful testament to kindness, generosity, and unconditional love.  Born on May 1, 1965, in New Jersey, Linda was a proud 1983 graduate of Grove City Area High School and later earned her degree from Kaplan University.  To know Linda was to love her. She never met a stranger, and her warm smile lit up every room. She possessed a rare gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. An avid animal lover, Linda found joy in the beauty of the ocean, traveling, and capturing life’s precious moments through photography. Above all, she treasured her family and friends, sharing a particularly close bond with her nieces and nephews.  Even in her final moments, Linda’s selfless nature shown through. As an organ donor, she gave the ultimate gift of life, allowing her legacy of compassion to live on through others.  She is survived by her mother, Pam Whetzel; her father, Donald Whetzel (Alyceann); her sister, Lisa Dora, her sister, Melissa Zahniser; her aunt, Paulette; her uncle, Gregg (Paula); her niece, Nicole (Justin); her nephews, Dylan (Jade) and Jackson; her great-niece, MaeLee; her great-nephews, Miles, Tristan, and Carter; as well as many beloved cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.  Linda was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Jimmie E. and Paul E. Posey, and her longtime friend, Pauly.  Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Linda’s beautiful spirit lives on in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She loved deeply, laughed wholeheartedly, and will be profoundly missed, forever remembered, and always loved.  "Being nice to others makes me happy." — Linda L.
